2016 BMW M3 Competition Auto

The BMW model line-up received a restructure. The 3 Series remained but only in 4-door and estate versions with coupe and convertible body types being rebadged as the 4 Series. In September 2013, BMW announced the F82 BMW M4 set to replace the E92 M3 Coupe and the F80 BMW M3 to replace the E90 M3 Sedan. For the new car, BMW did away with the naturally aspirated V8 found in the E92 and replaced it with a 3.0L turbo charged I6 unit. This new engine was purposed built for the new M3 and M4. In 2016 BMW updated the M3 and M4 with the addition of trim levels and new LED taillights. The Competition Package for the M3 and M4 was one of the trim levels added to the lineup. Power was increased by 14 kw to 331 kw with torque figures remaining the same at 550 nm which is transferred to the road via the standard M-DCT gearbox. This meant a 0-100 km/h time of 4 seconds. Competition package cars also received tweaked software that controls the electronic diff and stability management. Sportier seats completed the package.
