The Triumph TR series was a line of British sports cars built by the Triumph Motor Company between 1953 and 1981. Marketed in period as “The exciting car you can afford”, the Triumph TR7 was in production from 1975 to 1981 and is the best-selling TR model of all time. Harris Mann designed the TR7, whose radical wedge profile was billed “the Shape of Things to Come.” The TR7 was more modern and aerodynamic than previous TR models and featured a Unitary (unibody) construction. It was engineered to be a comfortable GT car, features a spacious cabin and was praised for its good handling. Power was from the 2.0l 4-cylinder engine which produces 105 BHP which is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox The Triumph TR7 remains a savvy entry into classic car ownership today because parts are plentiful and the wedge design has finally become "cool" again.
